The sun that ever shined within this breast,
A gleaming sphere, illuminating truth,
Seemed destined to be dimmed in every test.
The shadow seekers mocked it for its youth.
And over time, this brilliant light denied
Imposed upon this child an endless night,
Because the peoples' habit is to hide
All semblance of true self from others' sight.
A world of fearful isms came to shroud
The boy's true self with self deceiving layers,
And praying for divine light through the clouds,
He turned to innocence and to his prayers.
To answer hopes of casting off disguise,
Acceptance came with loving bright green eyes
